A Design and Research Center for Advanced RF and Optics Technologies.
CETRA is a no-profit public/private partnership in the form of a consortium, promoted by the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering of the University of Perugia (www.diei.unipg.it).
It involves national enterprises operating in the area of wireless communication and radar technologies, such as Alenia Marconi Systems (AMS), http://www.amsjv.com and Elettromontaggi (http://www.elettromontaggi.it), along with public research laboratories such as the Istituto Trentino di Cultura (ITC-Irst), http://www.itc.it, a public research centre of the Province of Trento.
Aim of CETRA is to establish and promote cooperation between public research centres and industries in the area of ICT, with specific reference to mobile and wide band applications.
This area, in particular, requires the integration of specialized expertises in various sectors such as analog and digital circuits, RF and microwave technologies, antennas, optical devices, signal processing techniques etc. To this purpose, CETRA employs young engineers and PhD students of the University of Perugia that are involved in applied R&D projects in collaboration with industries, both Italian and European, as well as other research centres in Italy and abroad. At the same time, CETRA constitutes an aggregation point for laboratory facilities.
International cooperation provides also the opportunity for developing educational programs for the young engineers. |
